Belly Buttons the Clown is a character developed by Terri Lynn, a children's entertainer and entrepreneur. She began pursuing the art of clowning in 1991 while raising her own children while her husband served in the Air Force. Developing a career while adapting to the demands of moving and military life was tough, and over time she realized that by providing children's entertainment services, face painting and balloon animals she could bring her new career to every new duty station.

Eventually the family settled in Newport News, Virginia where she began her own business booking herself and other clowns and entertainers in the Tidewater area. During her time in Virginia she performed regularly at various venues, including Great Wolf Lodge, Fairfield King's Gate, Kingsmill, Coventry, and Kiln Creek. She helped to run holiday parties in Colonial Williamsburg and entertained children on family nights at Bojangles Restaurant, and Second Street Restaurant. She also performed for various daycares such as Kinder Care, La Petite Academy, and Child Time.

Terri enjoys developing new magic shows and adapting tricks to party themes to keep the performances fresh and evolving. This includes library summer program themes and birthday party theme trends. Past themes and shows have included pioneer characters, Mother Goose, the Easter Bunny, Harry Potter-style Wizards and Dr. Suess inspired magicians.
